Super Rugby week 3 recap and week 4 preview featuring a FAT GUY TRY
He moves pretty quickly, even for a hooker.

It was a big week for the kicking game in Super Rugby . Multiple tries were scored off of attacking kicks in the offensive third of the field. It’s a high-risk, high-reward tactic, but when you’ve got someone who can drop it into trashcan from 30 yards away, I’ll take my chances.
WE HAVE A FAT-GUY TRY LEADING US OFF! Corey Flynn has some pretty good pace for a hooker, but he still brings that nice little wobble you expect out of a big fellow.
Best game of week 3: Chiefs vs. Highlanders
It came down to the final minutes and featured a ballsy play to win the game.
Note to NFL announcers: When a bunch of players get around the ball-carrier and push him down the field, that is not a “scrum,” it is a “maul.” Please refer to 0:24 in the above video.
Best team: The Waratahs, still
They dismantled the Reds easily. The 32-5 would lead you to believe that the game was actually closer than it was.
I’m going to take a moment to brag that I’ve predicted all along that 2014 would be a much different year for the Waratahs than their 8-8 2013 season. They will be the team to beat in Super Rugby, so long as they remain relatively healthy.
Upcoming game of the week: Sharks vs. Lions (Saturday, March 8th, 12:10 PM EST, DIRECTV Channel 490)
The top two South African teams square off in Kings Park, and the game is actually going to be played at a decent hour for American audiences! The upstart Lions have gotten off to a much quicker start than anyone could have predicted, and the Sharks are 2-0 although they’ve played some pretty weak opponents.
