Jon “Bones” Jones holds the UFC record for the most consecutive wins in the light heavyweight division with his current streak of 10-0. He’s heavily favored to pick up another successful defense of his light heavyweight title this Saturday in Baltimore at UFC 172 against Glover Teixeira as a -500 betting favorite.

Jones has dominated all comers over the course of his 19-1-0 career, with his only loss coming by disqualification in a match that he had well in hand. Using his exceptional reach to dictate his fights, Jones does a great job of keeping his opponents out of their comfort zone all fight long.
Glover Teixeira is riding an impressive winning streak of his own with 20 straight wins since his last loss. While he hasn’t defeated too many marquee opponents over that stretch, he has established himself as a powerful striker who isn’t afraid to trade blows.
If he can find a way to solve his reach disadvantage against Jon Jones, he could pay off nicely as a +400 UFC 172 underdog.
The light heavyweight fight leading up to the main event is a bit more evenly matched on paper with Phil Davis (-200) set to take on Anthony Johnson (+170). Jon Jones is running out of people to fight in the light heavyweight division, and the winner of this match will make a strong case as a title contender.
Of course, Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson also stake a claim to the next title shot.
Davis relies on his exceptional wrestling talents to win matches via submission and decision while Johnson is a devastating striker who can end a match with one blow at any time. Johnson has fought as low as 170 pounds and as high as heavyweight (235 pounds) in the past two years.
Luke Rockhold won nine straight fights in Strikeforce before making his UFC debut last May, which resulted in a loss to Vitor Belfort. He picked up a win in his second match in the UFC, and is heavily favored at -800 (the biggest UFC 172 betting line favorite) to make it back-to-back wins on Saturday facing Tim Boetsch.
Boetsch (+550) has lost two of his last three fights since winning his previous four. His recent fights have been plodding and he could be a standing target against the athletic and motivated Rockhold.
Other bouts on the card include a crucial flyweight clash between Tim Elliott (+315) and Joseph Benavidez (-380), Charlie Brenneman (+230) vs. Danny Castillo (-270) and former top lightweight contender Jim Miller vs. Yancy Medeiros.
