Preakness 2014 odds: California Chrome the favorite
California Chrome is still the favorite despite a blister that developed in the colt’s throat earlier this week.

Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome remains the favorite heading into the 2014 Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimlico Race Course. The colt currently has 3-5 odds to win the Preakness, the shortest of the Triple Crown races.
There was some question about the health of California Chrome heading into the weekend, as a blister was found in the horse’s throat after he was heard coughing on Thursday. But the blister has been treated and the colt has been deemed fit to race.
The biggest threat to California Chrome may be Social Inclusion, who has the second best odds to win the race at 5-1. Social Inclusion has run just three races in his career and won his first two races by a wide margin, but the horse missed out on a chance to run at the Kentucky Derby after finishing third in the Wood Memorial. Social Inclusion dealt with a foot bruise in early May, but he’s ready to go for the Preakness.
After Social Inclusion, Bayern and Ride on Curlin come in at 10-1 odds. Here’s the full list of odds for the Preakness (via the official site):
