The Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles and Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns came into the 2014 NCAA Baseball Tournament as favorites to get to Omaha. They’re already on the verge of elimination.
NCAA Baseball Tournament 2014 schedule: Eliminations begin on Day 2
Three national seeds are already on the brink on Saturday.

All three of those national seeds lost on the opening day of the tournament, victims of major upsets by the No. 4 seeds in their regionals. The Gators fell 3-2 to the College of Charleston Cougars, the Seminoles were blanked 7-0 by the Georgia Southern Eagles, and the Ragin’ Cajuns were shocked 1-0 by the Jackson State Tigers.
They’ll face elimination games on the tournament’s second day. Because the regional round is double elimination, nobody was sent packing on Friday. On Saturday, the winners from Day 1 play each other and the losers play each other in a knockout game.
The exception is in Oxford, Miss., where the first day was rained out. They’ll now play a 2-3-2 format beginning on Saturday, with three games on Sunday and a possible double-header on Monday.
