2014 MLB All-Star Game: National League ties it up

While Adam Wainwright spotted Derek Jeter some fastballs, and the American League a 3-0 lead, the National League fought back to tie the game, scoring two in the second and one in the fourth.

Chase Utley was hit by a pitch to open the frame, and subsequently replaced by Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon. Jonathan Lucroy followed the HBP with an RBI double to right field, making the Gordon substitution a rather prescient move by NL skipper Mike Matheny.

Dee motored home from first base on the hit, and while the relay was bobbled, Gordon likely would have scored regardless. This was Lucroy’s second RBI double of the game, one to left field and one to right field.
