Neymar taken to hospital after injury in Brazil win
Brazil’s superstar is in the hospital.
Brazil beat Colombia, 2-1, in the World Cup quarterfinals, but they may have lost Neymar. The Brazilian superstar exited the match after a collision with Juan Zuniga and has been taken to the hospital, according to AS and the BBC's Ben Smith.
According to multiple outlets, “it does not look good.”
Neymar turned to win a ball in the air and Zuniga came barreling through him from behind. It appeared as if Zuniga’s knee hit Neymar’s lower back, and Neymar went straight to the ground. Play continued on, but at the next whistle Neymar was still laying face down on the ground. The trainers came out to treat him, put him on a stretcher and took him off of the pitch. He was replaced by Henrique.
The extent of the injury is still unclear. It is possible he is being treated for the injury, or he may just be undergoing scans. Brazil has not issued any statement on their star’s status.
