USA Basketball Ccach Mike Krzyzewski called of the remainder of the USA Basketball Showcase after Paul George suffered a serious lower-leg injury. Coach Krzyewski addressed the crowd following the injury, officially ending the scrimmage out of respect to George and his teammates:

George suffered the injury while chasing down James Harden during a fast break. George jumped into the air and collided with the stanchion, landing awkwardly on his foot. His leg bent completely sideways, similar to injuries Shaun Livingston and Kevin Ware suffered. George was immediately tended to and placed on a stretcher. The gruesome injury was not replayed during ESPN’s live broadcast of the USA Basketball Showcase out of respect to George.
