This glorious run put Leonard Fournette over 1,000 yards in under 5 games
He’s just unstoppable.
LSU has gone out of its way to be accommodating to South Carolina as the Gamecocks play a “home” game in Tiger Stadium after massive flooding in the Carolinas related to Hurricane Joaquin. But LSU was never just going to extend its charity to giving Steve Spurrier’s team a win — not with Leonard Fournette on the roster.
This 87-yard run by Fournette isn’t the longest of his career — he had an 89-yarder in LSU’s bowl game last season — but it was long enough to push him over the 1,000-yard mark in his fifth game, making him just the 10th running back in FBS history to get to that plateau this quickly.
And, really, there’s nothing special here: It’s just Fournette making one move in the hole and outrunning everyone else on the field for a touchdown.
He can do that and have it seem like just another long touchdown run. He’s that good.
