Lamar Odom was found unresponsive after experiencing a medical emergency at a Nevada brothel Tuesday afternoon, Nye County sheriff Sharon Wehrly wrote in a statement. Odom was taken in an ambulance to Desert View Hospital in Pahrump, Nevada, 20 miles from the brothel, where he arrived at 4:16 p.m., PT then was moved once again to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Odom would have been airlifted to Las Vegas by helicopter, but was not because of his stature.

Police have yet to confirm the cause of the medical emergency that hospitalized Lamar Odom.


Police have yet to confirm the cause of the medical emergency. An investigation was conducted at the brothel by Nye County detectives after a call was placed to the Nye County Dispatch Center at 3:15 p.m.
Odom is currently an NBA free agent. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2013. He is a two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, and was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2011 after averaging 14.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game at 32 years old. He was signed and waived by the New York Knicks late last season.

PRESS RELEASE ODOM
At approximately 3:15 pm on October 13, 2015, a call came into the Nye County Dispatch Center from Richard Hunter, Media Director for Dennis Hof’s Bunny Ranch, requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive male experiencing a medical emergency at the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, approximately twenty miles north of Pahrump, Nevada in Nye County.
An ambulance from Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Service arrived at 3:34 pm and the patient, identified as Lamar Odom was stabilized and transported to Desert View Hospital arriving at 4:16 pm. Nye County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Cory Fowles and Michael Eisenloffel arrived and conducted an investigation on scene.
After being treated by the physicians, arrangements were made to transport him by Mercy Air helicopter. However, Mr. Odom was unable to be transported by air due to his stature. He was immediately transported by Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Ambulance to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for further treatment.
