Alliance pulled off the greatest comeback in ‘Dota 2’ history

Look, I know what you’re thinking “no way,” “that headline is click-bait hyperbole” -- sorry, but in this case it’s totally true. You can watch hundreds of games of professional Dota 2 and NEVER see a comeback like Alliance pulled off against Ninjas in Pyjamas in Game 2 of their best-of-three series at the Frankfurt Qualifiers.
Let’s break down what happened here. NIP bounced back after a disappointing Game 1 and asserted their will in Game 2. They were in control the whole game except for one player -- Loda. Quietly and steadily the Alliance carry was building Alchemist into an unstoppable monster, but it all felt like it was going to be too little, too late. After all, Alliance was down three barracks, their tier 4 towers were gone and the ancient had half health. It was going to be impossible, right?
WRONG.
NIP’s frustration at a failed push caused the team to buy back and throw themselves at the ancient again. When Loda used Chemical Rage paired with Bloodlust from Mynuts on Ogre Magi, it gave Loda an astounding FOUR ATTACKS PER SECOND. The animation couldn’t keep up with the speed and suddenly a team wipe in the Alliance based allowed for the most amazing comeback push we’ve seen in professional Dota.
The gold swing alone was almost 20k. It’s still hard to believe. “ALLIANCE BACK!” has become a bad meme, but maybe they really are? If you feel like watching the entire match you can see it below.
