Things are heated at Rogers Centre between the Blue Jays and the Rangers. In the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded, Ben Revere stepped to the plate and grounded into a forceout and was safe at first. Dalton Pompey, who had just entered the game to pinch run for Russell Martin, took off for home.
Dalton Pompey takes out Rangers catcher with slide into home
That’s, uh, not the best slide.

Pompey was called out at home when he slid into Rangers catcher Chris Gimenez at home. The slide was ... iffy to say the least.
#BlueJays Dalton Pompey out at home in the 7th inning. Fantastic slide though. @steverusse... http://t.co/PSEdgw0t8M pic.twitter.com/7gROU8ipJu

— Christian Lukens (@ChristianLukens) October 14, 2015 The umpires convened for a review because of the possibility of a double play. The call was upheld, leaving the bases loaded and the Blue Jays soon tied it on a Josh Donaldson forceout. Jose Bautista then homered to deliver a three-run bomb and put Toronto ahead, 6-3.
Not that the out mattered since the baseball gods showed up in full force. Still, not the best slide after what happened with Chase Utley.
