The Tennessee Titans will send quarterback Marcus Mariota for an MRI on Monday. Mariota was banged up on a low hit in the first half of the Titans’ 38-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, though he stayed in the game until garbage time late.
Marcus Mariota to get an MRI on his knee; fantasy owners must wait and see
The Tennessee quarterback was banged up on a low hit Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mariota was 21-of-33 passing Sunday for 219 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. Finishing the game for him was Zach Mettenberger, who was 5-of-8 passing for 63 yards. If Mariota has to miss time with his injury, Mettenberger would be the fill-in.
Fantasy impact: Tennessee coach Ken Whisenhunt was incensed about the hit that had Mariota banged up. Mariota will be sent for an MRI on Monday to see the extent of the damage to his knee. The team is hopeful it’s just an MCL injury that can be taken care of with some rest.
The fact that Mariota finished the game is a good sign that the injury likely isn’t that serious. Still, pay attention to Monday’s results. Mariota was on the fringe of the QB2 discussion at best. If he has to miss time, Mettenberger won’t even rank that high.
