A week after a lot of the talk surrounding Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins was whether he was nearing a benching, the quarterback had one of his best games. Cousins led Washington on a huge comeback as the team beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-30.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Kirk Cousins mounts big comeback
The Washington quarterback put up 29 fantasy points in a big comeback effort. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cousins completed 33 of his 40 pass attempts in the game for 317 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions. On the ground, he had 15 rushing yards and another touchdown. Cousins did lose one fumble, but all told, he had 29 fantasy points, almost double the 15 he had tallied in the last two games combined.
Fantasy impact: If absolutely nothing else, this game bought Cousins another several games at the helm of the Washington offense. The frustrating part is that Cousins’ good runs never seem to continue. Sunday was his third game of the season without an interception, and he followed up both of the other ones with a two-pick game.
The positive side, though, was the scoring. Cousins had thrown exactly one touchdown pass in every game this season before Sunday. Tampa Bay’s pass defense isn’t special, but still, Cousins accounted for four touchdowns in the game, which is heartening to see.
Cousins is owned in 7 percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues. Washington has a Week 8 bye, so he isn’t a must-add or close to it, but he has shown he has the occasional big game in his back pocket, which means he is at least worth the occasional look as a bye-week or injury fill-in.
