For much of the season, the Houston Astros sat atop the American League West standings. The Rangers were in last for a good portion of that time, but then something clicked. Texas finished the season with 45 wins in its final 70 games to vault up the standings. The Rangers clinched the division on Sunday and took to celebrating.

On the surface, that doesn’t seem abnormal. Except there is a backstory there and instead of just an innocent sign, that is a direct shot at the Astros. The Astros ran with a “Come and Take It” campaign this season.

The Astros and Rangers could meet for the American League Championship should they both advance. That potential matchup just became a lot more interesting.
