When’s the last time an NBA rookie class was this good?

Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiay and other 2015 rookies are off to amazing starts. Can they keep it up?

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

We’re back! After several months off (sorry!), we’ve returned to podcast about the beginning of the 2015-16 NBA season.

Specifically, we’re talking about the awesome start for the 2015 rookie class. Karl-Anthony Towns is already one of the very best big men in the league. Emmanuel Mudiay is struggling with turnovers, but he’s shown flashes of greatness for an interesting, if flawed Nuggets team. Jahlil Okafor still doesn’t defend or rebound, but he is getting buckets and physically dominating big men in the post. Kristaps Porzingis is cleaning up whatever mess needs cleaning. Justise Winslow has injected a new spirit into the Heat’s play. D’Angelo Russell ... well, it’s not all his fault.

Is this the best rookie class ever? Probably not, but when’s the last time this many first-year players looked this good this early?

We also briefly touch on the Warriors’ fast start, Ben’s beloved Sixers and a quick soccer diversion. Finally, we entertain a hypothetical that would have sounded silly in the past, but now is actually interesting: Would you rather have Blake Griffin or Kevin Durant for the next several years?
