Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins came out strong Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. The team put up at least 10 points in all four quarters, with Cousins having huge fantasy numbers, en route to a 47-14 victory.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Kirk Cousins latest to take advantage of Siants
The Washington quarterback threw all over the New Orleans Saints Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cousins went 20-of-25 passing in Sunday's game for 324 yards and four touchdowns. He had a perfect passer rating of 158.3 and had season-bests in yards per attempt and ESPN's QBR. He connected for a touchdown with running back Matt Jones and wide receiver Jamison Crowder and two to tight end Jordan Reed.
Fantasy impact: This wasn’t as big a surprise as it might seem; Cousins against New Orleans looked like a dream matchup all week. In his last three games, Cousins has thrown for eight touchdowns against only one interception, and has run for another score. Things have gotten better for the quarterback, who had six touchdowns against eight interceptions on the season before this recent hot stretch.
Regardless, it’s impossible to separate Cousins’ big numbers Sunday from the fact that he was facing the Saints. Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota had a similarly huge game against New Orleans in Week 9, and it didn’t portend any big monster stretch afterward. With Cousins facing Carolina in Carolina next week, he will be a low-end QB2 at best.
