Fantasy football projections, Week 12: Raiders-Titans featuring Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and Marcus Mariota
We break down the Week 12 matchup between the Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee Titans.

Oakland Raiders
Although most people would agree that quarterback Derek Carr is having his breakout season this year, he still has lessons to learn and the Detroit Lions taught him that last week. Carr threw for just 169 yards and no touchdowns. The fact his team lost the game was a crushing blow for the Raiders, given how bad the Lions have been this year. Carr should be able to bounce back against the Titans in Week 12, facing a team that’s still clearly in rebuild mode. The Raiders hardly have a running game, so there’s a good chance Carr goes over the 300-yard passing mark this week once again.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper will benefit from that. Like Carr, he too had a tough afternoon against Detroit last week. Cooper caught just one pass for a 4 yard gain. It was the worst game of his young NFL career and it will probably be the worst he ever has statistically aside from being shut out completely. There’s no way that happens this week in Tennessee. Cooper is just too good for that.
Tennessee Titans
Marcus Mariota looked to have everything under control for the Titans against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, but the Jaguars came back to steal the game in the fourth quarter. At least he took care of the football, but at the same time Mariota will need to be better if fantasy owners are to put him in starting lineups down the stretch. Oakland has been generous to quarterbacks and wide receivers, so this week might be a good time to give Mariota one more start, especially in deeper leagues.
Maybe giving tight end Delanie Walker a go against the Raiders is a good idea. Walker is coming off of his best game of the season against the Jaguars, catching eight passes for 109 yards. It’s too bad he’s only found the end zone in two games this season. Hopefully that changes against the Raiders for his fantasy owners. For now, Walker is only worth consideration in pretty deep leagues.
