After spending the better part of three NFL seasons as an anonymous player for fantasy, San Francisco 49ers tight end Vance McDonald scored his first career touchdown in Week 11. He followed that up Sunday with another score, his second in two weeks, in the 49ers' 19-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Vance McDonald emerging for 49ers
The San Francisco tight end has scored two weeks in a row. We break down the fantasy implications.

McDonald had six catches for 71 yards and a touchdown Sunday. Prior to his four-catch, 65-yard Week 11 game that included a touchdown, McDonald had never had more than two catches in a game in any of his three career seasons.
Fantasy impact: The 49ers are running out of weapons, and tight end hasn't been spared. Vernon Davis was traded weeks ago, and Garrett Celek was injured Sunday and will likely miss multiple weeks with what is reported to be a high-ankle sprain. That leaves McDonald as the team's top tight end going forward and, with Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, tight end is a position the 49ers are likely to use heavily.
McDonald is owned in zero percent of Yahoo! leagues. That will climb. That all said, it’s still a guy who was a third-string tight end on a bad team only a few weeks ago. His ceiling is significantly limited, and he’s going to be ranked low, if at all.
