The receiver spot is probably the least matchup-dependent position in fantasy football. That means most owners shouldn’t be taking many chances on the wire, assuming they haven’t been in tough spots heading into this week.
Fantasy football waiver wire: 5 wide receivers to target for Week 13
Anquan Boldin looks like he’s back to being a reliable fantasy receivers. Here are five receivers worth checking out off the waiver wire.
If you’re not sure of the players on your roster at receiver, here are some options to look at off the waiver wire:
Kamar Aiken, Baltimore Ravens (owned in 53 percent from the field)
Maybe quarterback Matt Schaub won't be that bad. The Ravens have a really nice schedule coming up with the Miami Dolphins next week and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Aiken should be a high-end WR3 in those two weeks with a nice upside.
Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers (owned in 58 percent from the field)
There's a pretty good chance Boldin was dropped after a hamstring injury and Colin Kaepernick getting bumped from the 49ers quarterback spot. Boldin has been pretty good in his previous two games with 93 receiving yards in each game. The 49ers do have a solid schedule with the Chicago Bears, the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals over the next three weeks.
Marvin Jones, Cincinnati Bengals (owned in 53 percent from the field)
This one is about the schedule. The Bengals get the Browns in Week 13, which should be a nice matchup for Jones. Back in Week 9, the Browns didn’t do a great job covering Jones, who had five catches for 78 yards. He probably would’ve had a bigger week, as well.
Jones also gets the Pittsburgh Steelers at home and the San Francisco 49ers in the first two weeks of the fantasy playoffs.
Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks (owned in 35 percent from the field)
The Seattle Seahawks lost tight end Jimmy Graham for the season due to a torn patella tendon. That means quarterback Russell Wilson should have some more targets to go around in between the numbers. That area is a big part of Baldwin's game, so he should be trending up going forward.
He’s coming off a monster week in Week 12, catching six passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He should be picked up in most formats leagues right now. You might not want to use him right off the bat, but he could be worth using in Week 14 if he has a nice outing this week.
DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins (owned in 4 percent from the field)
He finally got his rookie season off the ground with four catches, 80 yards and the first TD of his career against the New York Jets on Sunday. Parker had just four catches before Sunday due mostly to not being healthy. The Dolphins are now 4-7, so their playoff chances are looking pretty grim.
He has some really nice games coming up, facing the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13 and the New York Giants in Week 14. If you're in a deep league, you can probably give him a look.
