The Tennessee Titans saw their rookie quarterback, Marcus Mariota, forced from the game Sunday in the second quarter. Mariota didn't return to the Titans' 33-16 loss to the New England Patriots with what was diagnosed as an MCL injury.
Marcus Mariota leaves with knee injury, season in question for Titans, fantasy owners
The Tennessee rookie only played a little bit Sunday before his injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mariota had only six pass attempts before leaving the game, completing three of them for 32 yards and losing a fumble. He was replaced by Zach Mettenberger, who went 20-of-28 passing for 242 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Mettenberger filled in for Mariota in two games earlier in the season, but totaled only nine fantasy points in his two starts.
Fantasy impact: Mariota had come on a bit of late, coming into Week 15 averaging 22.5 fantasy points over his last four games, including a huge 35-point day in Week 13. This is a big comedown for a rookie who had been on a bit of a roll.
Mariota said after the game that he expects to play again this season, but he’ll go for an MRI on Monday that will have more to say on that subject. Either way, with the Titans’ season over and no reason to push Mariota, we might have seen the end of the rookie’s season.
Even with Mariota, the only Titan with any real fantasy value was tight end Delanie Walker. If the job goes to Mettenberger the rest of the way, that will only become more true. Walker is the only Titan who has to be owned.
