The Bulls’ 5-on-2 fast break is so bad it could be a Shakespearean tragedy

The Chicago Bulls won on Christmas against the Oklahoma City Thunder 105-96, but this fast break should get all of their presents from Santa thrown in the trash. Here's the Shakespearean tragedy in two acts.

ACT I

Jimmy Butler has a FIVE-ON-TWO fast break building. It would make sense for Russell Westbrook to foul him, stopping the possession and giving his teammates a chance to get back on defense. However, he anticipates the foul waaaaaaay too early, only succeeding in jacking up a completely unnecessary 28-foot three-pointer while falling out of bounds. Again, FIVE-ON-TWO.

ACT II

While bad, it's OK! The shot drew the tiniest bit of the iron and Doug McDermott is right there to clean it up! He's standing in the lane when he goes up for the layup! He probably anticipates a contest from Serge Ibaka, but come on, you can't flub a 4-foot layup with no one around.

Merry Christmas, indeed. Pass the eggnog.
