Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Charles Sims has had a fine season as the team's No. 2 running back. Sunday was his best game, though, coming in the Bucs' 26-21 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Charles Sims thrives with Doug Martin sitting
The Tampa Bay backup had a big game Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Sims carried the ball four times Sunday for 45 yards, adding three receptions for 72 more yards and a touchdown. That was good for 17 fantasy points, besting his previous season high of 13, set in Week 5. Starter Doug Martin sat for a chunk of Sunday's game on the heels of two lost fumbles, giving Sims the chance to run.
Fantasy impact: The Buccaneers want Martin to lead the league in rushing for the season, and with little else to play for in Week 17, it seems likely Martin will get some quick forgiveness for his Week 16 fumbles and will reclaim his place atop the team’s depth chart.
That said, Sims has been a perfectly valuable backup; Sunday was his fourth straight game with seven-plus fantasy points, and he’s reached double digits five times on the season. He gained 79 of his 117 yards Sunday on two plays, but Sims has some big-play ability as it is. He’s owned in 28 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and while it seems unlikely he’ll get huge usage in Week 17, he could be a sneaky play in deeper leagues. More importantly, with Martin heading for free agency after the season, Sims could be the team’s No. 1 heading into 2016.
