With starting running back LeSean McCoy sidelined with a knee injury Sunday, it seemed clear the Buffalo Bills would turn to some combination of Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee to fill in. And "some combination" it was, as both backs scored touchdowns in the Bills' 16-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Mike Gillislee scores in third straight
The Buffalo running back is firmly in a timeshare. We break down the fantasy implications.

Williams, the more established guy off a hot stretch early in the season, got more carries, with 17 to Gillislee’s nine. But it was Gillislee, who has been the hotter back of late, who gained more yards than Williams, with 93 yards to Williams’ 76. Both backs scored a rushing touchdown and both caught two passes (21 yards for Williams; 16 for Gillislee), while Williams did lose a fumble in the game.
Fantasy impact: Williams was more of a known quantity, having thrived early in the season filling in for McCoy. Sunday’s touchdown, though, was the third for Gillislee in his last three games. He was owned in only 10 percent of Yahoo! leagues as of Sunday evening, but could find himself virtually splitting time in Week 17.
Of course, this is all predicated on McCoy being ruled out for the season finale, which has yet to happen. And with the Bills facing the New York Jets, it's a tough matchup for whichever running back(s) the team chooses to use. Pay attention to practice reports out of Buffalo in the first few days of the week.
