The San Diego Chargers weren't expecting to lean heavily on wide receiver Dontrelle Inman this season, not with Keenan Allen, Stevie Johnson and Malcom Floyd in the fold. But injuries have ravaged the team, and Inman had to lead the way for in Thursday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Oakland Raiders.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Dontrelle Inman has best game of the season
The San Diego receiver led the way for the team. We break down the fantasy implications.

Inman caught eight of his 13 targets Thursday for 82 yards and a score. That was a season high in catches, targets and fantasy points (14), while coming in as his second-highest yardage total of the season. With Allen on injured reserve and Johnson out for Thursday, the Chargers were down to Inman and Floyd, with the latter winding down his career -- Floyd has announced he will retire at the end of the season.
Fantasy impact: Inman wasn't just seeing increased importance to the offense — he was forced to play at safety in the game, too, as the Chargers could barely have more injuries if they tried. Still, the team expects Johnson back for Week 17, and with the Denver Broncos' stout defense looming, Inman's brief surge to fantasy relevance is unlikely to last.
