The Steelers had no problem with the Colts in a battle for playoff positioning on Sunday night. Earlier, the Panthers won a classic with the Saints to clinch the NFC South. The Patriots lost for the second straight week, this time to the Eagles at Gillette Stadium. Earlier, the Minnesota Vikings had no answer for Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks as they rolled to a convincing 38-7 victory, while the Bills ended the Texans’ winning streak.

Panthers kept getting away with 12-man huddles

“I’m not going to get into the officiating,” Payton said after the game, although he couldn’t help himself. “I said walking into this door I was not going to get into it. And it happened twice, 12 (men) on the field, clearly, and they’re getting that right on Friday nights.”

Payton called timeout before the snap and a replay from FOX showed Tolbert leaving the huddle late, which frustrated Panthers head coach Ron Rivera, despite the fact that no penalty was called.

    Peterson says Vikings were ‘outcoached’

“I feel like we were out of sync,” Peterson told reporters after the game. “You definitely have to give credit to Seattle for coming in and forcing us to do things differently. They were just a better team. They were more aggressive, more physical and they outcoached us as well.”

When Peterson was asked to elaborate on his thoughts on the coaching, he didn’t get into specifics but said they were outcoached “in so many ways,” though he directed blame at Vikings players too, who he said were “outplayed.”

    Eagles shock Patriots in Foxborough

The Eagles had given up 90 points over their last two games combined. The Patriots owned the second best record in the NFL at 10-1. We all spent the week wondering what the hell the Eagles should do with Chip Kelly.

So of course the Eagles beat the Patriots, 35-28, at Gillette Stadium, lest you forget that this NFL season is committed to taking a flamethrower to your expectations.

Beloved dancing FB Mike Tolbert did THE CARLTON

Mike Tolbert isn’t one of the NFL’s most prolific touchdown scorers, but whenever he does hit paydirt, the fullback turns into one of the NFL’s best dancers. He’s already dabbed and given us something too sexy for TV this year. And after scoring against New Orleans, it was time for THE CARLTON!

Tolbert is the second-largest Carlton in the NFL, behind Ravens DT Brandon Williams. It used to be Le’Veon Bell’s move!

The Saints scored a TD and nobody noticed

Bills go back to basics to shut down hot Texans

    Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

For all the great defense that the Texans had played as of late, the team’s weakness was still its ability to stop a grinding rushing attack and the Bills stuck to it. Houston entered the game No. 3 against the pass, but the 4.3 yards per carry allowed by the defense on the season ranked No. 23 in the NFL.

But the Bills provided the blueprint for beating the Texans: run the ball on offense and stop Hopkins on defense.

The Jags gave up a really sad touchdown

The Jaguars and Titans had kept it close all day, on account of both teams being somewhat assy. Early in the fourth quarter, the Jaguars took their first lead of the game. Then they let Marcus Mariota score on an 87-yard touchdown run. Then they did this:

So in about two minutes of game time, the Jags went from up 32-28 to down 42-32. That’s not great!

    Mariota scores 87-yard rushing TD

Marcus Mariota has wheels! In case you forgot, the former Oregon quarterback showed his speed in Chip Kelly’s offense, but hasn’t really had an opportunity to display it in the NFL -- until now. This is an 87-yards touchdown run, just six yards off the NFL all-time record for longest rushing TD by a quarterback, which is held by Terrelle Pryor and his 93-yard run a few years back.

The Jaguars didn’t stand a chance, especially with the blocking in front of Mariota. What a play.
