Since missing a handful of games in the middle of the season, New York Jets running back Bilal Powell has come back to action stronger. That came to a head Sunday, as Powell had his biggest game of the season in the Jets' 23-20 overtime win over the New York Giants.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Bilal Powell has big performance against Giants
The Jets’ running back scored his first touchdown of the year. We break down the fantasy implications.

Powell had only 17 rushing yards on six carries Sunday, but also added 91 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight catches. The touchdown was Powell's first of the season. Starting running back Chris Ivory had 47 rushing yards on 10 carries and 22 receiving yards on five catches.
Fantasy impact: The game set up well for Powell to be the main guy over Ivory, as the Jets fell behind early, and Powell is far more of a pass-catcher than his starting positionmate. Still, he did what was asked of him with the gig, hauling in passes and spreading the defense out.
Powell is owned in only seven percent of Yahoo! leagues. This time of season, there’s no excuse for any Ivory fantasy owner not to own Powell as well, for handcuff purposes, but with Powell’s workload increasing a bit (he’s cut into Ivory’s snaps since returning from injury), he’s starting to be a guy who can be owned in his own right, not just as a backup. Powell isn’t a fantasy starter at this point, but his role is growing.
