Trying to make sense of a weird NBA trade deadline

In this week’s podcast, we look at the carnage the 2015 trade deadline created and try to figure out whether any team is significantly better.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Hi everyone. We’ve been recording a new NBA podcast for a while now and have finally decided to bring it over to SB Nation’s NBA page after eight episodes. The podcast is called “Limited Upside” for obvious reasons: we’re both slow, short (relative to actual basketball players), out of shape and with back issues. No sleep therapy or Catapult technology will save us. Thus, “Limited Upside” was born.

In this week’s episode, we wrap up a weird trade deadline.

  • Did Miami give up too much for Goran Dragic?
  • Did the Thunder get much better by acquiring Enes Kanter, D.J. Augustin and Kyle Singler?
  • Will Reggie Jackson break out in Detroit?
  • What are the Timberwolves doing bringing Kevin Garnett back?
  • Did the 76ers do the right thing giving up on Michael Carter-Williams so soon?
  • Who won the wild Milwaukee/Phoenix/Philadelphia three-way deal to close the deadline?
  • Most importantly: how much do any of these deals really matter for the title race?

All those answers and more in this week’s episode.
