Markieff Morris is upset that Suns fans provide ‘no homecourt advantage’
After a big loss, Morris calls out the Phoenix fanbase.

One of the problems was a lack of home crowd support -- or at least Markieff Morris said so after the game.
“I don’t think we have a home-court advantage,” Morris told Arizona Central’s Paul Coro. “It does not feel like a home-court advantage at all. Some games are going to be bad. You can’t win every game. That comes along with sports. Nobody wins games. We need the support. We need, as a team, to know that our fans are going to be behind us and I don’t feel like this year they’re behind us enough. I feel like we do have those genuine Suns fans but, for the most part, I feel like we had more San Antonio than Phoenix fans tonight.”
Bright Side of the Sun has a full transcript, where Morris made it clear he was talking about the season as a whole, not just expressing disappointment after a frustrating loss. Morris, the team’s second-leading scorer, will often avoid the media after games, but made a point to stay after.
Later that night, Morris sent a couple of tweets directed at the Suns fanbase to soften what he said after the game.
I no the @Suns fans are going to get mad for my comments tonight but, everything we do on the court is for you guys!!!

After holding the No. 8 seed in the West for much of the year, the Suns have only won three of their last 12 games and dropped a game and a half behind in the playoff picture. While Morris may be right about lackluster support, the two sides work hand in hand. The Suns are still 17-13 at home opposed to 14-16 playing elsewhere this season.
Regardless, the Suns desperately need to find a way to start winning games again. That, above anything else Morris can say, will get the fans involved in the game.
