John Calipari explains that college basketball is not communism

Take that, Ruskies.

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Hampton played pretty evenly with Kentucky for a stretch, but the Wildcats eventually pulled away to take a 41-22 lead on the Pirates at halftime. In his halftime interview, Calipari told his team that.... it’s not communism?

You see, if college basketball were communist, all Kentucky’s wins would get evenly distributed amongst college basketball’s worse teams. Kentucky tired of having the benefits of their hard work given to others, would stop trying as hard. The economy would fail.

However, college basketball is not communist, so Kentucky needs to work hard and win. I think this is what John Calipari is saying.
