Tonight at 10:00 pm ET on HBO, Wladimir Klitschko will face unbeaten contender Bryant Jennings for the world heavyweight championship at Madison Square Garden, marking Klitschko’s first fight on American soil since 2008.

Klitschko (63-3, 53 KO) is arguably the single most dominant champion in boxing today, as he has owned his division since 2006 and has a 21-fight win streak dating back to 2004. He’s looking to make his 18th straight successful title defense tonight, but Jennings (19-0, 10 KO) is coming in with other ideas.

Jennings, a Philadelphia native, went 2-0 on HBO last year and has been steadily moving into position for this opportunity since 2012, when he first began appearing regularly on television.

Also appearing on the broadcast in the co-feature fight will be welterweight prospect Sadam Ali (21-0, 13 KO), who takes on dangerous Francisco Santana (22-3-1, 11 KO), a fighter who has made his name recently by knocking off unbeaten young fighters.

Stay tuned to this post for live round-by-round updates and scoring beginning at 10 p.m.

ROUND BY ROUND COVERAGE

Round 1: Tactical round, with Jennings moving his head and feet early. Klitschko winds up landing more shots, including a right hand that while partially blocked, did move Jennings late in the round. 10-9 Klitschko

Round 2: Klitschko looking like himself -- comfortable, confident, jabbing. Wlad’s jab owns the round here, with Jennings doing very little, but still working on ways to find an opening. 10-9 Klitschko, 20-18

Round 3: Klitschko continues to control with his jab, and landed a good right hand about halfway into the round. Jennings having a horrible time finding the proper range, and Wladimir just looking more and more comfortable. Never a good thing for his opponents. 10-9 Klitschko, 30-27

Round 4: Busier round for Wladimir, as he’s pumping the jab effectively. Jennings does have some success to the body this round, but he’s still not winning the round. He’s here, though. He’s here to fight. 10-9 Klitschko, 40-36

Round 5: Jennings talking some trash in this round, trying to get Klitschko to make mistakes. Wladimir does not really make mistakes, though, and he lands the better shots once again this round, controlling with his jab otherwise. 10-9 Klitschko, 50-45

Round 6: Hey, hey, hey, we might have an interesting fight. Jennings is outworking Klitschko handily this round, and has landed some good shots. He takes this round, disrupting Klitschko’s rhythm and effectively landing shots. 10-9 Jennings, 59-55 Klitschko

Round 7: Jennings doing more good work, landing some good power shots and slipping a lot of Klitschko’s efforts to return fire. Klitschko may have hurt his right hand. 10-9 Jennings, 68-65 Klitschko

Round 8: Jennings still doing some good work, but Klitschko stemmed the tide this round, and managed to get himself back in control. 10-9 Klitschko, 78-74 Klitschko

Round 9: Klitschko lands his best punch of the night, but Jennings has his best round of the night, and takes this one to keep it fairly close. He’s in this fight, and he’s looking like a true elite heavyweight of the modern day. This is quite an effort by Jennings. 10-9 Jennings, 87-84 Klitschko

Round 10: Klitschko loses a point for holding early in the round, but otherwise lands the better shots of a fairly even round, making us shade it the champ’s way. Jennings had an argument here, and if he did win this round, that point could be huge. 10-9 Klitschko, -1 for Klitschko, 96-93 Klitschko

Round 11: A big 11th round from the champ, who looks to leave no doubts. Some good right hands that Jennings takes well. This fight is now Wladimir’s to lose, no question about it. But this has been a fine effort from Jennings, too. 10-9 Klitschko, 106-102

Round 12: Klitschko again making a statement in the final round, solidifying a very solid win against a very game opponent. Wladimir hurts Jennings halfway into the round, and that takes Jennings out of the fight a little bit down the stretch. Wladimir closed this like a champ -- he did all he could to knock out Jennings, and while he didn’t do that, he’s the clear winner. 10-9 Klitschko, 116-111
