Klitschko vs. Jennings live results: Round 5

Wladimir Klitschko is meeting some resistance, but still looking like the better fighter.

Leading 4-0 on our card, Wladimir Klitschko is not cruising, but he’s certainly winning against Bryant Jennings.

Early in Round 5, Klitschko is warned by the referee, “I don’t want to see you hold him no more.” That could be big. Klitschko’s game has often been criticized for his excessive holding.

Jennings calling Klitschko on and showing no fear, which could just be mind games, but shows that Jennings is trying anything he can to get Wladimir to make a mistake. Klitschko with an uppercut that lands. Moments later, a right hand lands and Jennings talks more trash. Left hook sneaks in from Wladimir. Jennings pounds to the body and Klitschko clinches him again. Referee not sticking to that holding warning.

Jennings is really putting forth a legitimate effort, and that has to be appreciated. But once again, he’s not winning the rounds. And that’s what will matter in the end.

SB Nation scores the round 10-9 for Klitschko, who now leads 50-45
