Pacquiao vs. Mayweather current odds: Manny remains underdog two days out
The odds remain as they’ve been all week long with just over 48 hours from Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao.
The money doesn’t appear to be moving around much this week, as Floyd Mayweather remains a solid favorite on the sports books for his Saturday fight against Manny Pacquiao. Major sports books have Mayweather listed between -200 and -225 for the fight, consistent with the rest of this week, while Pacquiao also holds steady, between a +175 and +200 underdog.
The odds for the fight opened with Mayweather around a -285 favorite, so that did change a fair amount, as did Pacquiao’s initial line of around +225.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao undercard fights are not seen as particularly competitive on paper, drawing a fair amount of criticism for the matchmakers, who had a chance to put on some good matchups in front of a huge audience, and instead opted for showcase fights.
Top Rank’s offering will see Vasyl Lomachenko (-2500 to -5000) take on Gamalier Rodriguez (+1000 to +2250) for Lomachenko’s WBO featherweight title. Lomachenko is definitely a fighter to behold, as he’s just four fights into his pro career and is one of the best pure boxers in the sport today. The Ukrainian is a former two-time Olympic champion who truly dominated at the amateur level.
Mayweather Promotions is putting forth Leo Santa Cruz (-10000 to -11000) against Jose Cayetano (+1600 to +3000) in what is seen as an extreme mismatch, which is unfortunately nothing new for Santa Cruz, who has been heavily criticized for recent fights like this one, despite being a likable fighter with an exciting style.
