Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is getting closer and closer to his return to the majors. On Wednesday he hit his first home run in his rehab assignment, going deep in the seventh inning for Double-A Frisco.

The ball landed in a pool beyond the right field wall.
It was the 10th minor league game on Hamilton’s rehab assignment, and in four games with Double-A Frisco he has hit a robust .563 (9-for-16).
Hamilton will move up to Triple-A Round Rock next and play through the weekend, and per Even Grant of the Dallas Morning News, could be back with the Rangers as early as next week.
