IRS guy wins FIFA corruption press conference with legendary, corny soccer joke

THIS IS THE WORLD CUP OF FRAUD AND TODAY WE ARE ISSUING FIFA A RED CARD.

IRS chief of criminal investigations Richard Weber -- aka Your Dad -- took the podium at today’s press conference announcing a crackdown and arrests on allegedly corrupt FIFA official. Your Dad had a soccer joke:

But wait -- if this was the World Cup of Fraud, why would FIFA get a red card? Wouldn’t the point of the World Cup of Fraud be to do a lot of fraud? Wouldn’t giving them a red card imply they weren’t doing enough fraud, or at least not participating in the spirit of the fraud rules? Shouldn’t Weber have said that FIFA would win the World Cup of Fraud? Maybe he’s implying that the IRS is removing FIFA from the World Cup of Fraud?

We’ve attained a copy of his first draft:

“FIFA has scored Fraud Goals too long, and now we are finally tackling them, although we will not use our hands because that is illegal. Although maybe it would be legal in Fraud Soccer? We’re calling an offsides on corruption and are corner kicking FIFA out of the game. Headers?”
