Wall, Washington's lone All-Star, suffered the injury during the team's Game 1 victory over the Atlanta Hawks over the weekend. He wasn't expected to miss much time, but the injury apparently worsened before Game 2, leading the team to leave him on the sideline.
Ramon Sessions started Game 2 for Washington and scored 21 points in 40 minutes, but he couldn't replicate the high-level play of Wall. The Wizards have long leaned on the 2010 No. 1 overall pick to run their offense and key their defense on the perimeter, and without him, the Hawks' defense was able to dictate far more.
This is Wall’s third evaluation; the previous two revealed no fractures. It’s unclear when he would be able to return.
In Game 1, Wall recorded 18 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds over 39 minutes. The 24-year-old has averaged roughly 17 points and 13 assists in five playoff games this year.
