LET’S JUST SKIP THIS PART: We’re in the low-reward, high-risk portion of the NFL calendar. The best we can hope for is bits of positive news about players looking faster and leaner with no pads on. The worst? Silly and potentially serious injuries. Exhibit A: Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis will miss four weeks after injuring his non-kicking leg playing team-sponsored kickball. Exhibit B: Saints linebacker Junior Galette suffered a pectoral injury and is mulling surgery, a procedure that could cost him his season.
Rise ‘n Grind: Do good things happen during OTAs?
Following the news during OTAs can be a bummer. Saints linebacker Junior Galette may be the latest casualty of the NFL offseason after suffering a pectoral injury.

FARTS: The Broncos have instituted a fart tax to stop players from fouling the air during meetings. The unholiest butt? That’d be pass rush specialist Von Miller.
LEAH LOVES LEBRON: Leah Still showed her love for LeBron James before Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The daughter of Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still recently suffered a setback in her recovery from cancer, but she’s staying strong and most definitely rooting for the Cavaliers.
LEBRON LOVES CHIP: A conversation between Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and Eagles head coach Chip Kelly inspired Spoelstra to get the most out of the Big Three in Miami. So Kelly has already won two NBA championships, basically.
CAROLINA LOVES CAM: Cat Scratch Reader dives deep into Cam Newton’s numbers and concludes he is well worth the mega-contract he signed this week. Newton agrees. Shimmy Cam, shimmy!
"TRUE PATRIOT": SB Nation's Matt Ufford recently wrote about the disingenuous practice of NFL teams taking money from the Department of Defense to honor the troops during games. Now lawmakers, headed by Arizona senator John McCain, are trying to add a provision to a defense policy bill that would end the practice.
"YIKES": Sports Illustrated caught up with Zac Stacy at Jets OTAs to ask him about the fateful one-word tweet he sent after the Rams selected Todd Gurley -- "It felt like draft weekend all over for me. I didn't really think nothing of (the tweet]) but it was meant to be kind of humorous. I didn't think it'd get the reaction it did, to tell the truth. I was just trying to be funny. At the end of the day, I should have worded it better."
UNSUNG: James Brady runs through the best No. 2 wide receivers in the NFL and the major impact they could have in 2015.
NEXT UP: Can Ryan Harris win the starting right tackle job in Denver? The veteran signee could be the key to the Broncos’ offensive line this year. (That, and no more dang injuries.)
JOHN BOWLEN JR.: There’s trouble in Denver of a different kind after the son of owner Pat Bowlen, John Bowlen Jr., was arrested for domestic violence on Wednesday. Mile High Report will have more as the story develops.
BUD SASSER: The Rams released a sixth-round rookie wide receiver on Wednesday, which normally isn’t major news. What’s notable is that Bud Sasser has a heart condition, and the Rams made sure to sign him to a four-year contract just before letting him go, ensuring that he will receive medical coverage.
WHO CARES? DeSean Jackson took his time before joining OTAs in Washington. Hogs Haven discusses whether the mini-freakout over a star wide receiver was justified.
FAMILY FEUD: All your favorite quarterbacks from 1993 made a very special appearance on Family Feud once upon a time. Including Jim Harbaugh, who is a surprisingly common face on daytime television.
PLAYER COACHES: ESPN looked at the promising potential players-turned-coaches, including Justin Forsett, Anquan Boldin and Matt Hasselbeck.
BOLDIN ENDORSEMENT: Boldin gave Jim Tomsula a strong vote of confidence as the 49ers new head coach.
ARROWHEAD PRIDE: Chiefs fans seem to be especially upbeat about the 2015 team. How long has it been? Joel Thorman says he hasn’t felt this good about Kansas City since 2003.
