American Pharoah is still the favorite to win the 2015 Belmont Stakes and capture the Triple Crown. The horse was favored in both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, and he delivered both times, winning by seven lengths in the latter race. But history is against American Pharoah pulling it off, given that it’s been 37 years since Affirmed won the last one.

As noted though, American Pharoah is still the favorite for the race. The official Belmont Stakes website lists American Pharoah at 1/5 odds, with his primary competition being Frosted at 6-1 odds. Then there’s Materiality at 8-1 odds, Madefromlucky at 14-1 odds, Tale of Verve, the runner-up in the Preakness, at 20-1 alongside Mubtaahij, Frammento at 26-1 and Keen Ice at 27-1.
It’s a similar breakdown over at OddsShark. Taking their latest odds from Bovada, they have American Pharoah listed at 5-7, Frosted at 6-1 and Materiality at 13-2. If you’re betting on whether or not American Pharoah will win the Belmont Stakes outright, “Yes” is currently at -140, while “No” is at +110.
The odds are ever-changing, but you can typically find American Pharoah as the favorite, with Frosted and Materiality representing his biggest competition.
