Austin Rivers is on a mission to prove he’s better than players invited to Team USA

In fairness to Austin Rivers, Thursday’s Team USA scrimmage featured last-minute role-player fill-ins like Amir Johnson, Terrence Jones and Arron Afflalo. (Also, C.J. Watson, though he didn’t end up playing). In fairness to all of them, they’ve been much, much better than Austin Rivers.

In fairness to Rivers, his absence prevents us from seeing him waive off Blake Griffin in an exhibition game.
