Tampa Bay Rays rookie Richie Shaffer could not have asked for a better first major league hit Tuesday night. It turned out to be a home run, as the Rays walloped the Chicago White Sox 11-3. And the delayed celebration his new teammates gave him, along with his parents’ reaction in the stands, made it all the more sweet for the 24-year-old.
