After the Chicago Cubs completed a four-game series sweep over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday, police began evacuating Wrigley Field because of a bomb threat. Several journalists tweeted the scene after being forced to leave the press box. Police reportedly told Andrew Baggarly that they get dozens of bomb threats every week, but “this one is more credible.”
Wrigley Field evacuated after Giants vs. Cubs due to bomb threat
A bizarre scene unfolded following the Cubs’ 2-0 win over the Giants at Wrigley Field.

Journalists were given the all-clear to return to the press box at roughly 7:50 p.m. ET. Police told the Chicago Tribune that they had received a phone call threat during the afternoon, but did not offer more details.
In a statement, the Cubs said that no evidence was found in the police search to suggest that the threat was credible.
“Following our game this afternoon, we received a bomb threat and took swift action to clear the few remaining fans, players, staff and media from the ballpark. After a thorough search by law enforcement, no evidence was found to suggest this threat was credible. We take safety at Wrigley Field seriously and are working with law enforcement authorities to pursue the person who initiated this threat.”
Journalists updated the situation as it happened:

The evacuation began as journalists were finishing up inside the press box. Workers went back into the stadium around 7:37 p.m. ET.
