The Cincinnati Bengals are an unspectacular 2-0, fitting right in with the team's recent history of unremarkable success. The Baltimore Ravens, however, are 0-2, a disappointing start for a team that was considered a strong AFC contender at the start of the year. The Ravens will look to get on the good side Sunday against the first-place Bengals.
Fantasy football advice, Week 3: Who to start/sit for Bengals vs. Ravens
The two will play an AFC North rivalry game featuring one team that is 2-0 and another that is a surprise 0-2.
The only fantasy-relevant Bengal on the week's injury report is wide receiver A.J. Green, who dealt with a knee problem during the week but was never seen as a worry for Sunday. For the Ravens, wide receiver Breshad Perriman will continue to sit out. Running back Lorenzo Taliaferro, who played Week 2 after missing Week 1, missed multiple practices during the week with a foot problem and will likely be questionable for Sunday.
Baltimore will be the site of Sunday’s game, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Let’s take a look at the fantasy names to consider:
BENGALS
Start 'em: Suddenly, the situation for the running backs in Cincinnati looks a little murky, after Jeremy Hill dealt with some fumbles. Give him another week as a sure-fire starter, but his leash has thinned. ... We're waiting for A.J. Green's first big performance of 2015, but he's a must-start regardless. ... Two games of this season have made Tyler Eifert a must-start.
Start 'em?: It's been a fine start to the season for Andy Dalton. A good one, even. But it's still Dalton, and he's still only a low-end QB2. ... Giovani Bernard has looked really good through two games, but he'll need more of an opportunity to rise above a decent flex option. ... The Cincinnati offense appears to be strong enough to support Mike Nugent as a fantasy option. ... The Bengals' defense has been productive so far. One more good game here and they'll enter must-start territory.
Sit 'em: As long as Green and Eifert are healthy and productive, there probably won't be enough to go around for Marvin Jones or Mohamed Sanu.
RAVENS
Start 'em: It took until Week 15 last year for Justin Forsett to have even one game of fewer than six fantasy points; he has one already this year, and only seven in his other game. He's still the teams' bellcow, but he needs to prove something soon enough. ... Justin Tucker is one of only two kickers with double-digit fantasy points in both games this season.
Start 'em?: No quarterback improved his production from Week 1 to Week 2 more than Joe Flacco, who went from zero fantasy points to 21. Still, his lack of weapons alone is enough to make him only a QB2. ... Steve Smith Sr. will see plenty of targets, but he needs to start finding the end zone with some of them. ... The Ravens' defense was supposed to be stout, but struggled mightily against Oakland and doesn't have Terrell Suggs.
Sit 'em: The questions surrounding Lorenzo Taliaferro's health cement his place on the do-not-use list, and Buck Allen isn't a much better option. ... Crockett Gillmore had a monster Week 2, but that looks to be more about the Oakland defense than his own success.
