Fantasy football advice, Week 3: Who to start/sit for Steelers vs. Rams

The return of Le’Veon Bell and the debut of Todd Gurley should be this game’s big storylines.

The Pittsburgh Steelers-St. Louis Rams game Sunday should feature two debuts. The Steelers get will get star running back Le’Veon Bell back from suspension after missing the first two games, while the Rams should see the NFL debut for their 2015 first-round draft pick in Todd Gurley.

As injuries go, the Steelers have had concerns about wide receiver Markus Wheaton as he deals with a chest injury, and he’ll likely be questionable for Sunday. The only fantasy-relevant Ram on the injury report is Gurley, who is finally expected to make it all the way back from his college knee injury.

Sunday’s game, scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, will be in St. Louis. Here’s a look at the fantasy names to consider:

STEELERS

Start ‘em: Without some of his primary weapons, Ben Roethlisberger was still a superstar fantasy quarterback through two weeks. And he starts getting his weapons back now. ... Le’Veon Bell would have been everyone’s No. 1 pick if he were eligible for all 16 games. For a 14-game schedule, there’s no better running back. ... Antonio Brown is good, but thanks for clicking to see if you should start him.

Start ‘em?: Through two weeks, Heath Miller has put up 17 fantasy points. As the Steelers get their pieces back, though, his usage will slip.

Sit ‘em: The Steelers asked DeAngelo Williams to get them through Bell’s absence, and he did. He’s not much beyond a handcuff now. ... Markus Wheaton and Darrius Heyward-Bey are getting the Steelers along while they wait for Martavis Bryant’s suspension to be over. Despite some decent numbers so far, they aren’t strong fantasy considerations. ... Between Josh Scobee’s struggles and the Steelers regularly going for two on touchdowns, he’s not a kicker you want anything to do with. ... The Steelers’ defense hasn’t shown an ability to stop anyone from scoring.

RAMS

Start ‘em?: For now, Tre Mason will still be the Rams’ No. 1 running back. He’s not great, but in a pinch he could help. ... In a game that should offer offense, you might get some production from Greg Zuerlein at kicker. ... The Rams’ defense should be really good. Against a strong Pittsburgh offense, this might not be the week, but you might be able to get away with it.

Sit ‘em: You like the matchup for Nick Foles against a bad defense, but he hasn’t shown enough for you to realistically be using him in fantasy. ... You assume Todd Gurley will debut Sunday, but you would think he’ll be eased into the rotation slowly. He’s not a realistic fantasy contributor yet. ... The Rams have a lot of receivers -- Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin -- and a reasonable tight end in Jared Cook, but there’s not one you can count on for week-to-week production.

SUMMARY

Start in every league: Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown
Start if you’re desperate: Heath Miller, Tre Mason, Greg Zuerlein, St. Louis defense
Bench: DeAngelo Williams, Markus Wheaton, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Josh Scobee, Pittsburgh defense, Nick Foles, Todd Gurley, Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook
