Kansas State band explains performance that sure looked like an NSFW Jayhawk

The band director apologized for “the misinterpretation.”

Kansas State’s band did something interesting at its halftime show!

This happened during a Star Trek-themed halftime show. That was supposed to be the Starship Enterprise.

But let's be real here ...

The Starship Enterprise looks ... well, not that much like that. It's definitely got two somethings coming off the side. But I'm pretty confident it didn't destroy opponents by ramming its proboscis into its opponents' mouths. We're guessing this is probably just the K-State band having some fun with a reasonably believable alibi.

For what it’s worth, the band shared the alleged design the band was trying to recreate, which looks significantly less phallic.
