There isn’t a more Thursday-night matchup possible than the Jaguars and Titans, so the least this game can do is give fantasy owners a reason to watch. Fortunately, there are actually quite a few reasons, whether it’s an elite running back in the Titans backfield, or a Jaguars wideout who is a sleeping giant that fantasy owners are desperately poking at with a stick. Let’s take a look at the fantasy implications:
Fantasy football advice, Week 8: Who to start/sit for Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans
Dan Ciarrocchi reviews who should be in fantasy lineups or benches for Thursday night’s AFC South matchup.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Start ‘em
Allen Robinson can only go as far as Blake Bortles takes him, and over the past two weeks, that hasn’t been very far at all. Robinson had an absolute dud against an exploitable Raiders defense, catching two passes for 9 yards despite leading the team with eight targets. The Titans present a tougher matchup for Bortles and company, but Robinson needs to remain in lineups, albeit with tempered expectations. He is a back-end WR2.
Start ‘em?
Marquise Lee had just as many targets as Robinson did in Week 7, but he turned his eight targets into a 100-yard effort. Teams in bye-week hell could do worse than taking a flier on Lee, who has 13 catches over his last two games. Julius Thomas, who asserted his touchdown-dependent value with a score against the Raiders, is a low-end TE1 with six teams on bye.
Sit ‘em
Until Bortles gets his act together, he and Allen Hurns present too low of a floor to be counted on. With the backfield also divided, neither T.J. Yeldon nor Chris Ivory can be trusted while the Jaguars’ offense sputters.
Tennessee Titans
Start ‘em
As former SB Nation Fantasy staffer Daniel Kelley pointed out, DeMarco Murray is one of four non-quarterbacks to have 10 or more fantasy points in every week he has played. Fantasy owners should not be laboring over the opportunity to start him on Thursday, and Murray can be penned in as an RB1 as usual.
Start ‘em?
Delanie Walker has a matchup with a Jaguars defense that is giving up an average of 3.2 fantasy points per game to tight ends. However, Walker will be Jacksonville’s biggest test when it comes to keeping that average down, and fantasy owners probably can’t do much better than Walker in a heavy bye week. Walker remains a TE1 despite the poor matchup.
Sit ‘em
The volatile trio of Marcus Mariota, Kendall Wright, and Tajae Sharpe can remain on benches, even with six teams on byes.
