So you want to be an NFL player for Halloween

Halloween is just days away, and it’s time to make some important decisions about costumes. The weekend will be filled with parties, and you don’t want to be the one person there who didn’t come up with a phenomenal costume.

Richard Sherman (as Harry Potter), Golden Tate (as former teammate Calvin Johnson), and Tom Brady (as Bill Belichick ... but maybe not on purpose?) got a head start on celebrating the holiday. But some of us wait until the last minute to decide these things. That’s OK too! Whether you’re an NFL player or simply a fan who wants to honor your favorite player, we’ve got you covered.

Cam Newton: This one should be easy. Go to a thrift store. Buy any and all hats they have. Cowboy hat? Get it! Top hat? Ring it up! Pillbox? Not just for Jackie O. Fedora? I ... guess. Now rotate wearing them throughout the night. Congratulations, you pulled off the Cam Newton costume.

Odell Beckham Jr.: Here’s a good one for couples. One person can grab a Giants jersey and some blonde hair dye. The other person can get some netting and be the kicking net.

Brock Osweiler: Be tall. Like, really, really tall. If you’re not, you can’t be Brock Osweiler. Don’t forget the grammatically wrong tattoo and the look of shame that comes with earning big bucks for plays like this.

Ryan Fitzpatrick: Find a lumberjack beard and a cooler stocked with beers. Walk around your party asking your buddies if they’d like a brew, then promptly throw one to someone else at the party once they say yes. When your friends question what the hell you’re doing, accuse them of not believing in you and reassure them of your own indignant self-confidence.

Sam Bradford: Take a page from the Fox broadcast. Print out a Bradford headshot and tape it over your face. You can wear whatever you want!

Ezekiel Elliott: Maybe you want to dress up as the Cowboys’ rookie running back for Halloween. This one’s incredibly easy.

The best way to emulate Elliott is to be half-naked. Either don’t wear pants, or don’t wear a shirt. Don’t choose both! That will only confuse people and maybe get you thrown out of parties.

A Cleveland Browns quarterback: This one is fairly easy to prepare for. You could get a jersey of a Browns quarterback, and put a cast somewhere on your body. Or, you could be extra comical with it, and just wear an entire body cast. Because if a Browns quarterback made it through an entire season, they might look like that anyway.

Not every NFL player is fully prepared for Halloween.

If Aaron Rodgers needs a costume idea, the answer is obvious. He should go as Aaron Mr. Rodgers. We know from his Celebrity Jeopardy appearance that he already has the sweater.

Teddy Bridgewater is laid up with an injury, but that shouldn’t keep him from enjoying Halloween. He could easily borrow an idea from Fox Sports and just put Sam Bradford’s head on his own body.
