FOX cut away the Washington-Bengals game in overtime because of terrible NFL rules

When we finally have a good London game, it gets taken away from us.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Washington played in one of the better London games we’ve seen in a while on Sunday. The two teams had a competitive second half, and Washington’s Dustin Hopkins was able to tie the game at 27 apiece to send it to overtime.

That’s great and everything, but the broadcast was cut off for some folks. The NFL’s broadcast rules require FOX to leave the game because the 1 p.m. games were kicking off.

Now, it should be noted that this is in home markets. So for instance, if you are in Atlanta, the Falcons don’t play until 4:25 p.m. ET, so with the Seahawks and Saints slated to show at 1 p.m., Washington vs. the Bengals is still shown.

Of course, if you’re in the Washington D.C. and Cincinnati markets, you’re able to see the game’s conclusion.

Yet, many aren’t as fortunate, and won’t be able to see the ending to the game they’ve been watching since this morning. And some folks had to get up at 6:30 a.m. to watch!

It seems fitting that when there’s finally a good game played in London, it gets taken away from many people across the country.

Reminder, these are NFL rules, and the folks at FOX politely ask you not to send them angry tweets. Save it for the league.
