The Cincinnati Bengals and Washington tied in the NFL’s first game Sunday afternoon in London. It was just the second time there’s been back-to-back ties in the history of the league.
Jay Gruden, an NFL head coach, says he didn’t know games could end in a tie
We’re not sure if he was joking or not.

So mind you, there was one last week. The Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals tied 6-6, combining for one of the most boring Sunday night games in recent memory.
Gruden saw that game, and said he didn’t know it was possible for teams to tie.
There’s a hint of sarcasm to what Gruden is talking about. He later displayed as much:
Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan summed up how he and his team felt after the loss:
When you consider all the work that goes into games during the week, Kerrigan’s sentiments make tons of sense. It must be even worse when the teams travel thousands of miles just to tie.
