The Carolina Panthers announced their final Week 5 injury report on Saturday, and quarterback Cam Newton has been ruled out for Monday Night Football. Derek Anderson will start in his place. Newton suffered a concussion last week and missed all three days of practice. There is no word on his status for Week 6, but he will need to clear the concussion protocol next week.
Cam Newton (concussion) ruled out for MNF, fantasy owners can adjust
The Carolina Panthers formally ruled Cam Newton out for Week 5. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy implications: Fantasy owners will not have to worry about a last minute decision on Cam Newton. They can adjust accordingly with their next best option. For those that find themselves without an option, Derek Anderson is not the worst option. The Buccaneers defense is struggling in a big way. I would not downgrade the Carolina running backs, and we might even see a little more of the ground game with the running backs. That being said, you still start Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin like normal.
