The last at-bat Eddie Robinson ever took for the Indians was in October 1948. It also happened to drive in the run that proved to be the margin of victory in a World Series clincher, so you might say that he’s good luck for the Indians.
The last living Indians World Series winner will be at Game 6
Eddie Robinson was there the last time the Indians won it all, and he’s hoping to be there again.

This would explain why the team is quite excited to bring the 95-year-old Robinson back for this Game 6:
Eddie Robinson, who drove in the decisive run in Cleveland’s clinching victory over the Boston Braves in Game 6 of the ‘48 Fall Classic, has been invited by the Indians to attend Game 6 of the World Series against the Cubs on Tuesday night. Robinson and his wife, Bette, flew to Cleveland from their home in Texas on Monday and will be hosted in a suite during the game.
Nothing reminds you that the Indians are also working on a ridiculous postseason drought more than a championship team having just one survivor left. There are good luck charms, and then there’s Eddie Robinson.
Now, I wonder if they’ll mention this on the broadcast tonight. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
