GLAD THAT’S OVER

So ends a brutal week for NHL stars.

Steven Stamkos, the captain of the Lightning and one of the best goal scorers in hockey, is gone for at least four months after knee surgery.

Taylor Hall, the Devils’ most electric player in years and leader in points and goals, is gone for at least a month with a similar injury.

And Johnny Gaudreau, the most exciting player out west, is gone for six weeks with a broken finger.

Three of the NHL’s best reasons for tuning in on any given night sidelined for most of the season in the blink of an eye. Life comes at you fast.
